The Antique Collector is a high-end marketplace and editorial platform connecting buyers and sellers of rare antiques and collectible pieces. The challenge was to redesign the digital experience to reflect the craft, heritage, and exclusivity of the objects themselves—while improving usability, trust, and conversion across both buyer and seller journeys.
The existing experience lacked clarity, cohesion, and the level of sophistication expected by serious collectors. Our role was to transform the platform into a refined, intuitive, and credible destination, balancing luxury aesthetics with functional clarity.
The Antique Collector had outgrown its original design, with users—mainly high-end collectors and boutique sellers—struggling with poor navigation, inconsistent UI, and lack of trust signals.These users expect a premium, intuitive experience when dealing with rare, valuable items. The redesign was essential to align with their expectations and position the platform as a trusted, high-end destination in the luxury antique market.
The Antique Collector operated primarily through a mobile app, with no fully developed website—creating a major gap in accessibility, visibility, and trust. Many users, especially older collectors and high-value buyers, prefer browsing on larger screens where images and details feel more immersive and credible.Combined with a cluttered app interface, poor navigation, and lack of verification features, this led to high drop-off rates and minimal engagement. Users often abandoned the platform before browsing collections, contacting sellers, or listing items themselves—missing key opportunities to connect and transact.
